About Us
The Eighth Judicial Circuit Law Student Association (EJCLSA) was established for the purposes of facilitating contact between local attorneys and law students and encouraging awareness of local legal issues and activities. We work directly with the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association (EJCBA), the local bar association in Gainesville, to provide students with the opportunity to network with local attorneys, serve on EJCBA planning committees, and participate in the mentorship initiative.
Current Initiatives
Currently, we are accepting applications for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, Inc. mentoring initiative. This initiative connects law students with local attorneys in a variety of ways. Students may sign up for one-on-one lunches, sit in on court hearings, client meetings, depositions and other events to gain practical exposure to different practice areas of law. Additional information and applications for mentors and students are available on the menu bar on the left. Students interested in joining should fill out the Student Application and attorneys interested in participating should fill out the Mentor Signup.
